With brutality and humor, Boaz Barkan digs through a living body to reveal a new organ – the place where our racism resides. Our Other Body is a humorous and grotesque dissection of anti-Semitism and its effect on Jewish identity. A performance lecture about how we are all both victims and oppressors at the same time, in the same body. A journey through bodies and time to connect the effects of oppression and the roots of violence.
Boaz Barkan is originally from Israel, where he trained as a ballet and modern dancer in Tel-Aviv and at CAL-Arts in the USA. Barkan started his career in New York before settling in Denmark, where he now works as a choreographer, performer and practitioner in the fields of dance, performance and somatic practice. Barkan also has a BA in dance and psychology, and training in Body Weather Laboratory and Feldenkrais practitioner. Barkan is also the artistic director of the nolands theater association.
