ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE

´Open Mic with LOGEN’ has free admission for all.

Four times, Orcs & Others will feature guest appearances by other living beings. Each will perform music and performance for 20–30 minutes. Orcs & Others is a total installation by Kristoffer Akselbo that transforms the basement bar of Husets Teater into a living LARP world inhabited by six orc-like bartenders. Throughout the biennial period, the performers follow simple behavioural loops—serving, sweeping, playing games—allowing everyday actions to slip into fantasy. Visitors enter a space where fiction bleeds into reality, and on special evenings new figures emerge through short guest appearances. A strange, playful ecosystem unfolds beneath the theatre, open to anyone willing to step inside.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

LOGEN is a performing arts collective with a cross-aesthetic focus. Founded in 2014, LOGEN established themselves in the Danish performing arts scene with their two experimental works Historien om Øjet and DEATH TO TRUTH OF BEAUTY, demonstrating a commitment to challenging the collective creative process, the traditional production workflow, and the intimate, ritualistic encounter with the audience. Most recently, they have created Monsterbal at Toaster – Husets Teater (2022) and Gilgamesh at Teater Sort/Hvid (2024).

LOGEN aims to penetrate deeply and create funhouse mirrors for their audience at the intersection of transcendent moments and reflective social critique, within a sensuous, expressive, and surreal universe. LOGEN focuses on elevating the sacred, the imperfect, the collective, devotion, and generosity—values they seek to promote as fundamental in our contemporary society.

There is a constant search in LOGEN’s work for the extremes of human consciousness and subconscious. This is in order to create a free space for the audience, where people can be seen and heard regardless of their shadow sides. LOGEN rarely constructs idealized images; instead, they confront the human experience, life, and all its facets directly, without reservation or judgment.

TOASTER PERFORMANCE BIENNALE

In April 2026, Toaster presents Denmark’s first international performance biennale, taking place across Den Frie and Husets Teater.

The biennale offers a current portrait of the performance field within both visual art and performing arts – and the many intersections between them – which are rapidly evolving nationally as well as internationally. The focus is state of the art: taking the temperature of the field right now.

Experience more than 20 performances, including 10 entirely new works created specifically for the biennial. The artists range from established performance practitioners to emerging talents – sometimes within the same work.

The programme encompasses works rooted in dance, text, costume, sound, light, music, and space. Performance is here and now – it is the time we live in, and the time we choose to spend together.
