Step out of the hamster wheel for a moment and into a space for reflection - Free Entrance
Take it easy with a light, humorous pause that encourages reflection on the fact that we live in a world that demands a lot from us at a high pace. It’s okay to be bored here. In fact, it’s almost preferred.
The performative presentation is for anyone who feels pressured by the speed of time, who wishes to pause for a moment, look around, and ponder. It’s for anyone who wants to take it down a notch or 3 1⁄2, or simply experience a surprisingly and slow as well as informative journey. Based on a blend of informative analogy, knowledge from the world of science, and exercises designed to provide slow-going food for thought, the performance is a small bouillon cube that focuses on our daily practices, inner and outer pressures.
A little note:
The presentation is interactive but entirely voluntary. You’re welcome to just be present, observe, take deep breaths without actively participating, while thoughts are set in motion – or paused?
Björg, Ragnhild, Amalie, and Iben – who are they?
Four graduate students from the Theatre and Performance Studies program at the University of Copenhagen have condensed a performative presentation on slowness from 1000 hours down to just 30 minutes due to the demands of the fast-paced society we live in. Driven by questions like “Is it necessary to curse for being 1 second late for the subway when the next one comes in 2.5 minutes?” or “Do we smile a little more at our fellow human beings if we have time?” “Can we choose to have time?” “What is bad timing?” “What is it that we need to achieve?”
As facilitators, they have backgrounds in literature and performance and understand the importance of a good story. Despite the academic foundation in presenting the concept of slowness, they focus on the good story. Because it’s precisely the stories that we remember and take with us. So come and take your own story home.
