Under the working title Jærtegn, we delve into folklore, symbols and omens, exploring the enduring stories that aim to help us foresee changes in the world.
The word Jærtegn comes from the Norse “Jarteikn”. It traditionally alludes to a magical understanding of reality, where symbols in nature are omens of fateful events to come. But this requires the ability to listen to nature and decipher the interconnected symbols.
We see great dramatic potential therein, and in Salon #3 we will explore the possibilities unleashed in the encounter with the audience and how we create meaning in a collective space through text, images and symbols.
