FACT, FICTION AND ARTISTIC FREEDOM in working with the documentary

Presented by

Astrup & Bordorff

Astrup & Bordorff invites to a salon in collaboration with Bikubenfonden and Husets teater

Based on Kirsten Astrup and Maria Bordorff’s performance O’S HISTORIE at Husets Teater, the artists have invited two colleagues in the performing arts and film for a conversation about working with real events artistically.

The salon is a conversation about the use of drama, fiction and staging techniques in documentary work, and about how much artistic freedom one can allow oneself and still call it a documentary.

Astrup & Bordorff’s work as visual artists lies at the crossroads between film, performance and theatre, and their works mix documentary methods with cinematic – often strongly caricaturing – tools.

They themselves call O’S HISTORIE a theater documentary crossed with a period drama, and as part of the salon Astrup & Bordorff will show excerpts from the performance live. The actors are: ÖZLEM SAGLANMAK, ANDERS MOSSLING, ANTON HJEJLE and ISA MARIE HENNINGSEN.

Moderator:
Gudrun Marie Schmidt, culture journalist at Politiken and host of the newspaper’s daily podcast, ‘Du lytter til Politiken’.

In the panel:
Astrup & Bordorff, artist duo and current with the performance O’S HISTORIE at Husets Teater.

Sargun Oshana, Director of Theater at GROB and director. Current with KANNIBALEN at the Royal Theatre, a performance based on real events.

Jesper Dalgaard, Film documentarian and creator of i.a. the critically acclaimed documentary “Kandis For Livet”.

Actors: Özlem Saglanmak, Anders Mossling, Anton Hjejle and Isa Marie Henningsen.

Time: Monday 23 May, at 16.30-18.00

Place: Husets Teater, Halmtorvet
